Ceiling molding for decorating cornices

The only drawback of this material is its low strength; without pre-designed niches, it is not possible to fully install the necessary interior items (paintings, shelves, TVs, curtains). And then you have to rack your brains to mount the structure correctly and take into account all the necessary details.

We are increasingly seeing compositions in interiors that allow us to hide the curtains, create the effect of flowing curtains from the ceiling, and are decorated with stucco decoration . If you decide to install suspended plasterboard ceilings yourself and want to hide the curtain, then first you need to take measurements of the ceiling, think in advance what shape the ceiling should take, decide on the curtains, will they be single-row or multi-row and how will they be attached. Decide what the niche for the curtains should be, since the niche can be of different shapes: recessed or protruding, not deep (when a string-type structure is planned and you can hang curtains or tulle up to 7 kg) and deep (when heavy curtains are used in combination with tulle ) or at the window. Different widths and lengths, have hidden lighting or other equipment. When creating a niche you will need: metal profiles, screws, drywall, dowels. It is necessary to make markings, first of all we mark the height of the cornice on the ceiling and wall, on average - 15 cm, retreat from the window, thereby creating a width of 30-40 cm. We make a frame from metal profiles, if there is LED lighting, we supply the cable and sew it up with plasterboard sheets .

If you have small windows and you want to focus attention on them, you can make a protruding U-shaped structure from plasterboard and cover it with a cornice or molding with a smooth profile or with an ornament. Please note that for this design you need to select a decorative element that will extend more onto the ceiling than onto the wall. Thanks to the protrusion at the top of the profile, it is easy to install; all you need is assembly adhesive and anchor nails. After installation, the decor is painted with water-based, oil or acrylic paint.
