Paintable polyurethane skirting: what paints can be used

Skirting boards are an essential component of almost any interior space. It performs important functions, such as masking cable ducts, hiding seams between the floor covering and the wall, emphasizing the boundary between floor and wall decor. Skirting boards made of polyurethane and duropolymer are very popular. Both materials are environmentally friendly, do not absorb or emit odor, are impact-resistant, durable and easy to maintain. The difference between them is primarily in density. Duropolymer is denser, which means that it is more resistant to mechanical damage. Polyurethane floor plinths can be either solid or flexible, allowing you to bend around any podiums and protrusions, maintaining the shape, design and dimensions. A flexible polyurethane skirting board is as easy to install as a solid one. Flexible polyurethane plinth is an elegant solution for walls with rounded geometry. The big difference between polyurethane plinths and their analogues made of wood, MDF, laminated and plastic is that polyurethane plinths, which have the greatest resistance to damage, can not only be tinted in any color, but also without visible joints and various plugs, as well as moisture resistance!

Skirting boards made of polyurethane or duropolymer are best used in combination with moddings, ceiling cornices, rosettes and other stucco moldings. Easy installation using super-strong adhesive allows you to glue the plinth to the wall, efficiently, and does not require unnecessary fastenings, including plugs, corners, since all corners are sawed off with a hacksaw at an angle of 45 degrees. There are two types of installation of skirting boards. Use mounting and joining adhesives, or screw it to the wall with self-tapping screws, the heads of which are puttied. Later the baseboard is painted. It is better to paint it with latex or acrylic paint. Polyurethane and duropolymer skirting boards are represented by different brands on the market. The more famous of them are Orac Decor, Classic Home, Peremetr, NMC, Harmony, Europlast and others. It is best to install the floor plinth before gluing the wallpaper, since it should stick to the primed wall, and not to the wallpaper. But if you mount it with self-tapping screws, then this is not so important.
