Acoustic panel installation methods

Neman panels can be fixed with construction adhesive or screws. The choice depends on the condition of the wall, the substrate material, and the goals of the acoustic treatment. Before installation, take measurements and mark out the panel positions. If necessary, cut the panels to size using a saw or jigsaw.

Installation with construction adhesive

Adhesive installation is suitable for flat, dry, and sound surfaces. First, remove dust, grease, and any loose or flaking coatings from the substrate. If the wall is painted, make sure the paint is firmly bonded to the surface.

Use a construction adhesive that is compatible with MDF, polyester felt, and the wall material. To enhance sound absorption, the manufacturer recommends mounting the panels on a 45 mm deep timber frame and filling the spaces between the frame members with sound-absorbing mineral wool. This method also provides a level surface for the cladding if the wall is uneven.

Timber-frame installation is suitable for spaces with greater acoustic comfort requirements, such as meeting rooms, studios, and home cinemas. The overall result depends on the construction, the area covered, and the characteristics of the room.
