In order for the curtain rod to match the chosen style and withstand the weight of the curtains, you first need to understand what curtain rods are currently on the market today. Cornices are divided by material: inexpensive aluminum cornices; round cornices with plastic or wooden fittings; elite models of forged and metal cornices; flexible ceiling cornices. By type of fastening: to the wall; to the ceiling.

Metal cornices, despite their apparent simplicity, look elegant in the interior. These products come in single-row and multi-row. They consist of a rod (diameter 10, 16, 19, 25, 28 mm), tips, brackets and rings. The rods are divided into smooth and curly. There are brackets: open and closed, wall and ceiling, end. They look impressive in combination with light fabrics, and can also withstand heavy fabrics up to 80 kg, such as tapestry or printed curtains. A wide range of tips allows you to choose the appropriate pattern for your interior.

Forging occupies a special place among metal cornices; it is distinguished by its strength and graceful lines. The profile can have various shades, ranging from white to brass color, and have a glossy or matte surface. The products are mounted both on the ceiling and on the walls. They look great in Baroque and Provence styles.

Aluminum curtain rods are strong and durable, suitable for any fabric. To install aluminum cornices to the ceiling, you need to make a hole and fasten it with screws, and if the cornice is mounted to the wall, then you need to use an additional bracket.

Although plastic curtain rods are considered a low-budget option, thanks to the variety of colors and additional fittings they look decent in the interior. Suitable for country houses, cottages or apartments with high ceilings. Suitable for classic style where lambrequins are used. Plastic tire curtain rod is another type of curtain rod, made from high-strength plastic. Ideal for installation in a ceiling niche. They are the basis for baguette cornices and cornices with a hood. It is possible to install a rotating element to create a bay window cornice.

To fasten curtains, there are clips and hooks on which the fabric is hung; grommets - plastic or metal elements in the form of rings - are especially popular. Curtains with eyelets look stylish in a modern interior and have the following advantages - easy and silent sliding along the curtain rod, beautiful even folds, as well as careful fastening.
